Characterization and Parametric Optimization of EN-10149-2 Steel Welded Joints Made by MIG Welding

Advanced high strength steels (AHSS) are multiphase that contain various concentrations of ferrite, bainite, martensite, and retained austenite phases. The unique physical characteristics AHSS present some challenges to welding bonding processes. have tendency change microstructure mechanical properties by any process like other steels. Based on the significant applications in industries, experimental works carried out one materials, EN-10149-2 S700MC, with thickness 2 mm steel sheet metal MIG parameters such as current, voltage, speed. For all combinations parameters, butt joints fabricated. inspected through different nondestructive testing for defects detection. All defect-free characterized (at zones joint), hardness, tensile tests. From obtained test results, optimized design experiment techniques (DoE). analysis from DoE method is used identify which parameter most among parameters. Confirmatory also done taking optimal result shows improvement response variables acceptable optimization was valid.
